Canadian Breast Cancer

The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation was established in 1986 and is solely a charitable organization. The central office is located in Toronto, Ontario but each province has its own chapter with regional offices.

The CBCF helps to fund, support and educate people everywhere about Breast Cancer. In 1992 they created theĀ Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run For The Cure. In the first year 1,500 runners took part in this event and they raised $85,000 towards cancer research. These numbers have grown today and the 2012 Run for the Cure, which is sponsored by the CIBC, raisedĀ $30,951,651 CAD.

The 2013 race is scheduled for October 6 and you can register by visiting the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation site.

Other fund raising events include the Richie Mann International golf event which is held each year in beautiful Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Many local communities across Canada hold their own events including raising money from garage sales each spring.
